You'll notice the white hard hat being worn by one in the platform, He'd gone up to get a better view of the situation. The roof didn't collapse until later. The hole you see were caused by gas cylinders going up.
They pulled back when they got back to the ground.
Not as close to the building as it appears, but close enough to be hit by the slates as the control valves/heads of the cylinders went through the roof! Having travelled through three floors & 18 inches of concrete before reaching the roof.He was very lucky indeed

Damage was done by pieces similar to this, about the size of your hand and about 1lb in weight.Those cylinders are like bombs going off

Hurt would be an understatement. If it can shoot through 18 inches of concrete, the roof & still go over 300 foot in the air, what chance would you stand.That would certainly hurt if it hit you.
