Sorry you've hurt your back @welsh dragon. I can sympathise - pulled my back a few years ago, so know that there's hardly anything you can do to get comfortable. I hope it eases quickly.

I've hurt my back and the stupid thing about it is, all I did was cough, and now I can hardly move. The left hand side of my back is killing me. I must have a trapped nerve of something.

Ouch! Sounds like you may have tweaked a muscle.
Heat and some Brufen if you can take that. get to the Doc if it's still bothering you in a few days

I walked over the Stiperstones on christmas day 2012, wet, ankle twisting rocks everywhere!
