I went to school with ex Villa manager, Martin O'Neil. He was captain of the school football team!!!

Actually a very clever guy wasn't he. He was studying Law at University wasn't he when he was picked up by Cloughie at Forest. A mate played at Leicester when he was the manager there and I remember him telling me O'Neil used to take himself off to major court cases at places like the Old Bailey on his days off. He also said he would write different conclusions to famous court cases.
I think that fact he was a deep thinking man was apparent when he appeared as a guest pundit during one of the World Cups and rather than utter the first thing that came into his mind, he would take a couple of seconds to think his answer through and compose himself.
Also a very honourable man, to walk away from the Celtic job, which was his dream job for the sake of his wifes health.
I like the guy.

What you say is true. The school was one of the biggest grammar schools in NI and we were in 6th form at the same time, although he was a year ahead.
