I hate the cold, it's a case of just get on with it, like going to work or riding the bike. You have to make the best of it, but if there is any excuse to stay in the warm I'll take it and today seems a good opportunity

Our FD and his family were supposed to be going to Ireland by ferry for Christmas, may have to change their plans

Well unless its really rough, there's no reason the ferry can't sail. Two out of the five largest RoRo ferries in the world operate in the Irish Sea. They've sailed in worse than this with the last lot, which were smaller.

I've been across the road to the co-op, wasn't too busy, and got a few last minute things.
Not going out again....currently have a gammon boiling, then it's into the oven studded with cloves and marinated with orange juice and orange blossom honey.
It's blowing a gale here!

Just having my third tea of the day to relieve the boredom of being at work on Xmas Eve. Totally pointless being here, had 1 e-mail and 2 phone calls. Would save the NHS money if they just shut the back office functions for a few days over Xmas!!
