Two nights of Squidge having to write stuff and I am losing the will to live!

Replaced the belt thingy on the hoover today as the carpets seemed to get hairy more quickly and Maj is not in full moult and it needed it twas a tad stretched!

Shattered it will not be a late night!

quite hard work (well for me it was).

We had to stand on the back of the machine (no seats) and pick out all the stones the mesh belts had not sifted out, it was an absolute pain when it was wet and we got huge clods of soil/earth come up on the conveyor. It was all women my mothers age or older as well... It wasn't too bad, but the conversation was not really my sort of thing...

It was much better than doing it by hand though, I remember as a young child my mother being out on the fields hand picking potatoes and asparagus... (they still hand cut asparagus as well, although she has stopped doing that now).

I spent an intimidating summer on one of these with 4 lady travellers who would strip off in the heat.
I was mentally scared at the age of 17:surrender::surrender::eek:
