So do I, we intend to drink it at the wedding!

I've been told to let it ferment in a bucket initially, then when that dies down, transfer to demi-johns for the final fermentation, and then into bottles.
That's sort of what I did. Needed muslin to stop the fruit flies diving in. It did ferment as there was some alcohol (forced some down!) in it but it was not particularly nice to drink. Not sure why and never repeated the experiment.

I'd have a plan B for the wedding - just saying

Yeah if all else fails we'll just buy booze....

The guys at work often make batches of cider, one lady did it by accident by forgetting about a bottle of apple juice in the fridge - that one tasted really nice!
