So you have never ever ever mucked up a photo like that then, Potsy?

I should really tag my photos like that, how do I do it?
First step, find and open windows live gallery...

So I could tag a photo "Leo" and "garden"? This is not as daft as it sounds. The days that the weather and light is good for taking a photo of the cat, also shows the garden.
Not daft at all. If it's a photo of my bike up on Exmoor at sunset, then it's tagged "exmoor", "landscape", "sunset", "somerset", "bike".

I try to avoid being too specific with the tags unless it's something I'll take photos of regularly, so I use "beach" to cover all beaches rather than tagging each one individually, as an example.

I have managed, in Gallery, to "repair" a photo. It was something photographed on a table and I managed to remove the dirty mark on the table. ^_^
:bravo:

I think as I delete photos, I might try "altering" them. Then it does not matter if I change a good photo and forget to keep a good version of the photo before altering that. Not that I can think of anyone who would have altered what was a lovely photo of a lake in Sweden, ruined the photo, and then found that the original was not there.:ohmy:
We've all been there!! Two tips: back up, back up, back up. And open an individual photo in gallery. See the "revert to original" button at the top on the right? Gallery remembers how the photo was before you started doing any changes and will take you back to the start if need be. Note - this only works if you make the changes in Gallery.

(Truth be known....I'm feeling a bit intimidated/inadequate by all this technical talk.........and am about to ask Rocky minimus, who is upstairs revising for his finals, if he can explain )

Thank you Jo, you have been very helpful. ^_^

Organising my photos is something I have intended to do for yonks*. With the weather being so cold, and outdoor activities limited, I knew it was time to get started.

* Yonks is a technickal term wot Wocky might recall.

If your next question is about gardening, I'll have to back slowly away...

I organised mine a couple of years ago. Took forever. :addict::cuppa::wacko: I still go back over them and edit/delete.

Me too, have got a lot of them in files so say a certain cc forum ride will be in it's own folder, but the individual photos are un-tagged.

Just tagged a couple as a test, when then searching for them they came up along with others I hadn't tagged but the folder is named the same as the tag

Yes, I realise this could take a very long time. I will make a start by deleting the blurry ones and tag some others.

Aha! I just tagged one, and after entering one tag, and pressing return, I can give it another tag.
I thought it was one of Tasha in the window by the Christmas Tree. On closer inspection, it is the cat from three doors up. So it is tagged Christmas Tree, Cat, and Benjy.
