I read on a French forum that Andy Schleck is thinking of not doing next year's tdf as the course doesn't suit him . Apparently he doesn't fancy the 100k against the clock. He is thinking of doing the giro and vuelta instead with a view to winning them both.
Just wish to add that the 100kms is done over 2 stages Against the clock and 1 prologue. Apparently Andy is worried that he would need at least 4miuntes over his competitors to stand a chance. The only way he could do that is by attacking early on in mountain stages like he did last year. A lot of hard work indeed!!

Correct.Giro/Vuelta are the options. He simply is not a good enough all rounder to win a Tour with two time trials (forget the prologue, if he stays upright it's a good ride). WHich is where people like Chris Froome, Bradley Wiggins, Cadel Evans, and Alberto Contador (if he walks on the clenbuterol matter) score. All can climb and time trial to a high level.

It would make a lot of sense for both Schlecks. There'll be no Contador at the Giro whether he wins his case or not, he'd likely only have Nibali/Basso, Scarponi, Igor Anton and possibly Froome to contend with for the GC, he'll hardly be panicking at the thought of it.

If Bertie does cop a ban, TDF organisers will be shitting it at the thought of losing the 2 Schlecks, leaving who as genuine contenders (or big names even) Cadel & Wiggins??

An interview on cyclingsnews states that neither of the Shlecks will be riding the Giro.

Frank Shleck claims that the Tour is still No 1 goal for them both.

Maybe now that Bruyneel is in charge they will get some better preparation for time trialling. They can hardly be any worse, so perhaps the TdF may be an objective after all. As yet though, the team has not completed registration with UCI, it appears. That will get sorted out, no doubt, and we'll see if the brothers can ride with discipline, stay upright, and not spend every day looking out for each other, rather than riding to orders.

Is this the real reason Andy can't TT? He's lost if Frank's not there!

I'd be very surprised if they're not on the TDF start line. Very surprised indeed.
