Assumes you have a pump and a bit of card to hand, but this is normally more likely than carrying a spare tyre.

Years back I did that. A Walkers Beef 'n' Onion cellophane packet was used.
Yesterday I was just being bloody minded and every turn of the wheel I was expecting burst ear drums too.

I wish I could. It's now got odd tyres and I've got to change the back one now to match.
Such is the tart in me.
