Taking Bike on Holiday

Hi there

I've recently had a bike fit and would now prefer to take my bike on holiday.

How easy is it to pack, unpack and assemble your bike? Do I need to take a torque wrench, etc with me. The bike I'm thinking of taking has a tubeless set up - how would that work?

Thanks in advance

Where are you going and how? When I go to europe to cycle I usually take a ferry, so always take my own bike. I am planning a majorca trip for the winter, and will fly there, so will hire a bike over there. I cant be arsed with the stress and hassle of taking my bike on a plane. Had mates who have had their bikes damaged (even tho used a hardcased bike box), one whose bike went missing and turned up about 5 weeks later after he had returned home!

I know it's really annoying when people drag a thread off topic but I'm going to do it anyway. Have you considered hiring a bike at your destination? It could remove a lot of hassle and stress.

i hired a bike to do a trail in the USA... the hire bikes were proper clunkers with no option of upgrading to something better.
