well I rode into a 30 knot wind this morning and apparently its 26 for my way home, how is best to take advantage of this and set a record time home?

You can't.
Everyone knows the wind changes direction through the day so you should be able to look forward to a 26 knot headwind on the way home![]()

I got an awesome tailwind yesterday on the A46 going north from the M4 motorway, I just rested my hands on the downbars and pedalled relatively easily and before I know it I am doing 25-30mph on the flat with virtually no effort on the pedals. Probably the most rewarding 5 miles i've ever cycled.
