taking advantage of a tail wind

well I rode into a 30 knot wind this morning and apparently its 26 for my way home, how is best to take advantage of this and set a record time home?

You can't.

Everyone knows the wind changes direction through the day so you should be able to look forward to a 26 knot headwind on the way home ;)

There is no such thing as a tail wind

Edit: Actually there is such a thing as a tail wind, but it is only ever experienced by cyclists heading in the opposite direction to you.

I got an awesome tailwind yesterday on the A46 going north from the M4 motorway, I just rested my hands on the downbars and pedalled relatively easily and before I know it I am doing 25-30mph on the flat with virtually no effort on the pedals. Probably the most rewarding 5 miles i've ever cycled.

Until you discovered you were going in the wrong direction....

anything thats not blowing either down or up the lane isn't too much of an issue round here as we have devon banks (about 2-4 foot of earth with another 4+ foot of hedge on top) which block almost all the wind, gates were great fun though
