Switching a Flatbar for Drops?

I think they idea of switching flats for drops (in this instance) has been roundly rebuffed. I'll leave this thread here for posterity.

I did this very thing on my Dahon folder on a whim - total cost was about under forty quid.

You can use Tektro RL520 levers which are V brake compatible.

I made a mount for my shifter from an old bar end after advice from this forum. Projects like this are an itch that sometimes have to be scratched... Following this approach everything can reversed easily if you don't like it the bits sold on Ebay for little loss. Once you are looking at STI shifters it's best to buy a new bike!

Fwiw his secret was to use bar-end shifter on the left for his XT front mech, and he had traditional canti's, not v brakes.
