Switch front pads to back?

Is it acceptable to switch your front pads to the back?

Reason I ask is I changed my front pads about five months ago, but not the rears as they were ok. Now the rears need changing, and I have a a pair of pads I can either fit straight to the back, or put the new ones on the front and move the part worns to the rear.

Is that ok or should I just replace the rears with the new ones?

I too have done this. I swapped the front with the rear just before christmas. I recieved two new sets however as both of the originals were badly worn.
The new ones are replaceables (sliders) so it will work out cheaper. They havent worn down much so far either.

Moving the front pads to the back is better. It's the front brake that stops you, so putting the best pads there is safer.
Having said that, few people bother.
