Surprised a taxi driver

Was picked up last night by said driver from airport and on the way back, fairly close to home.

Cyclist in front - dark clothing, no lights

As we were passing him
Me: 'The guys an idiot, no lights'
TD: 'Yeah. I like to get really close to them, you know. Then give them a blast of the horn.'
Me : 'try that with me and you'll get a size 10 in your door. As a start.'
TD: 'only the ones like him, no lights, getting in the way......'
At this point he looked at me and thought it was better to shut up.

Needless to say it soured my usual joful arrival home. And I forgot to get his plate number. Oddly he did actually give the cyclist a reasonable amount of space.

Would'nt of made any difference if you did, unless there was a complaint from the cyclist the licensing authority would've paid you lip service with the relevant " we'l look into the matter " and then done nothing about it

Ironically I got a cab from Pad tonight,(Paddington) as I didn't want to cart a ten ton case round London and I tipped him quite nicely.He didn't say anything about cyclists though although we only saw one along the whole way and said cyclist had decent lights.
