have had a pair of oakley jawbones for a while now and been really pleased with them so far (some people prefer radars or m frames for cycling as they have slightly better peripheral vision - but the jawbones are still good in this respect and i prefer having frame sitting on my cheek rather than the lens). Not cheap by any means but the lens quality is excellent and customer service is second to none - for non cycling duties i have a pair of oakley frogskins which i got over a decade ago when i was still in high school and over that time they've been stood on once with a leg broken and ran over by a skateboard scraping the lens along the ground. Both times fixed under warranty (the second time was about 8 years after purchase which i could get that level of warranty on any other consumer good!)

My decathlon ones have changeable lenses, clear yellow pink and dark. Still haven't worked out what the pink lenses are for.
Increased contrast in dullish light. I use coloured lenses for shooting, and the vermillion lenses flat down any lush green backgrounds and make the orange targets stand out. Pink or red cycling glasses will have the same effect, highlighting coloured objects like cars, pedestrians etc and flatting down backgrounds.

Like yourself I do like the oakley brand, and anything oakley I have ever owned, shoes, clothes etc... has always lasted exceptionally well.

I know someone said customs is more money than sense, and they may well be right, but I am looking at building my own pair, which actually don't work out any dearer than a standard pair. I am going to try a pair on and see if I like the look and feel of them. I've just got a nice bonus from work, so thought I'd use part of it to treat myself to something I really want.

It's great hearing what everyone else wears though and the reasons behind their decisions.

If you need a prescription, Optilabs aren't bad, I found the reactolite not dark enough for the 'proper' sunlight of the past week, but they were fine in the winter, kept my eyes sheltered from the cold wind.

I use the crane sunglasses from aldi, they have different types of frame shapes on sale so usually pick out the same style cause i know they fit nice.I have used them for years, they do the job, if you've got plenty of cash and have to look like a pro, then there of plenty of brands out there for a few hundred quid, but I really don't see how they justify the price tag, it's like anything with a designer label, excuse to rip you off. I'm always dropping mine, if I'd of payed a couple of hundred I'd probably break down and cry if I scratched them lol

I glue gunned old lenses into a pair of Aldi specials - job done!

I've got a pair of prescription Wayfarers – but give more of a pasty English wheezing look.
I'd like something more 'wraparound' to give better protection from flying bits and pieces, but seems it's not always easy to get prescription lenses in 'funny' shapes?

i didnt want to spend that much but you get what you pay for and if you get 5 + years out of them it's worth it. its just about on the limit of what i wanted to pay too though
i had cheaper glasses and they scratch easy.
