Hi all,

Not sure about you but I much prefer to cycle with sunglasses on.

Partly for the look, but mainly because they keep stuff out of your eyes like fly's and grit, and at the same time prevents the wind drying your eyes out.
I wear them in the rain as well, when it's light enough, as I don't use mudguards (can't stand them, regardless of practicality).

I currently have a pair of cheapish BLOC sunglasses, which do the job, but they are getting a little scratched now.

I am looking for a new pair, any recommendations? I quite like Cavo's Oakley Jawbones with air ventilation, obviously only good in the dry!

I go for cheap ones as they tend to get abused a fair bit.
Redfrog have been ok (I bought from their ebay store). I also have a pair of Peltor safety sunglasses as they have impact protection form ARCO (easy bike ride for me to the trade counter though)

I sometimes wear clear safety glasses too as being a contact lens wearer when is cold/windy eye watering has caused me to lose a lens in the past.

I like Endura Spectrum glasses, very cheap but great quality and tough, and they are the best glasses I've had for deflecting the wind.
In rain if you wear a cycling cap with a good peak you can mostly keep your sunglasses on and very little rain hits the main part of the lenses that you see through.

i always wear glasses of some description. Normally clear or yellow lenses through the winter. I have some light reactive specialised sunglasses which are spot on. I also have some oakley jawbones, which to be honest I'm not to impressed with.
Endura do some reasonably priced light reactive glasses as do Tifosi.

I just get cheap ones off ebay as I always drop them, currently got a pair of Bolle's that I got for like £6, apparently have full UV protection which at the end of that day as long as it keeps my eyes safe, stops flys and wind getting in my eyes I am happy with.

£3.99 jobbies from Aldi. They're damn good - protect the eyes and have sufficient gap from the cheekbones to keep them aerated.

Once had a set of more expensive ones and they steamed up in damp conditions or at the lights. Which was a pain in heavy traffic.

I've got a pair of prescription Wayfarers – but give more of a pasty English wheezing look.
I'd like something more 'wraparound' to give better protection from flying bits and pieces, but seems it's not always easy to get prescription lenses in 'funny' shapes?

Decathlon do some great clear glasses, which I've worn through the winter. A few years ago I bought some Specialized Adaptalites in a sale for about £40. They're reactolite, and after 4 or 5 years of constant use they're still unscratched. I'd not be daft enough to waste Oakley kind of amounts on shades, but these are well worth it.
