I haven't been to Brighton for some time. Assuming it's not raining, I'll probably come along.

Sorry Andy. Unless there's some way of me getting back from Brighton by 1pm, I'm going to have to take a rain check. Sorry mate...

Hmmmmm I wish I'd been more on my bicycle recently. This is so tempting. Please can I be a possibility?

Sorry I wont make this after all.

Have fun!

M :hello:

Well, this is shaping up to become quite the menagerie. A cat, a dodo, no mice (darn). Spoke with Oliver today, and he seems keen. Think we have one other off forum (who might well turn out to be Oliver's dad), so we'll need to think of at least another two animals. I'm hoping for something between cheetah and sloth.

Yes, and it was good to see you, although your exhaust sounds a bit noisy.

I didn't get to Brighton in the end, as at some point around Limpsfield my chain jammed. I initially thought it had stretched the cable, but further examination when we stopped at a cafe in Lindfield showed I'd bent the cage. It meant I couldn't shift onto the inner chain ring, and if I moved it manually, it then rubbed if I was on the small cogs. So as I knew I wasn't going to get up Ditchling, I diverted off at Wivelsfield and got a train back.

Hopefully everyone else got there, although they ended up in 2 groups going different routes........

Apart from that, a nice day out. Nice to see some familiar roads in daylight for a change.

I left them at Lindfield, and shot off to Haywards Heath, just catching the train back (hooray) which was then diverted, not arriving home for ages, and therefore finished off the work I was supposed to do yesterday this morning......

It felt just like a sunday london ride only we wern't in london and i was talking to meself allday

So i was shepherding Olivers dad and we were following Oliver who was 1/4 mile ahead only we didn't know who Oliver was following (i recon he was after a gold mouseketeer badge)
yes we were off course

Andy rang but my phone was under so many layers i didn't even notice

We had the choice of going back or "blasting" down the A23, Olivers dad was getting tired so
we pushed on and headed for A-road heaven

With failing light we "charged" along the A23 with our speed going between 8-12 mph and hit that last roundabout on the A23 in daylight (phew!) after that it was cyclelane all the way in to Brighton

Apparently we beat Andy and co to the madeira but then again we didn't have to go up the beacon

(and i'd changed the DI2 to compact just to get me up the beacon)
