Look after your knees, you'll miss them when they're gone.....

Still makes me smile

I go to the same event every year in Mid April and I have burnt so many times I've now learned that is the point in the year when I need to start being a lot more careful. This year I froze! However this week I've been putting on the sunscreen.

Remember it's in spring that the ozone layer is at its thinnest, so even if it doesn't seem all that hot and sunny, there's still plenty of UV getting through. :sun:

Set-off solo camping on Wed afternoon, just the 20 off miles to Lambourn for some much needed R&R, couldn't have picked a better few days! But got slightly sunburnt on forearms and tops of knees during such a short ride. Thursday the sun was so fierce I had to sit in the shade most of the day so I didn't fry.
For the run back this afternoon, SPF 15, long sleeves just in case and wide brimmed sunhat to add a certain je ne sais quoi ....

Nicely toasted on all sides now :-)

I'm kind of caramel colored, so I don't burn

I'm a proper Celt (at least that's what I think passing drivers are shouting) but thanks to the London melting pot young Bolletta is quarter Pakistani. Can she brown up? No she cannot. Does she despise my dominant genes? Mostly (at 14 she's 7 inches taller than her mum)

Thanks to American melting pot, I am about a quarter or so Irish (dominant culture in the home) One quarter Bavarian, as well as some Yorkshire and Essex thrown in, for good measure. And maybe a little Viking.
