I'm still here waiting to find out what's happened.

Nothing happened. They were policemen charged with preventing crime. I was innocent. So why did they feel the need to lecture me on the evils of drunk driving before I registered a zero reading?


That's the problem with the legions of dim people in the employ of the public - they imagine themselves to be in some sort of authority over the people they deal with. They hate to think of themselves for what they actually are - hired hands.

Everyone should have a hobby...

However, I'm kinda in agreement here, 2 wagons, 6 coppers to stop simoncc in a Fiesta (don't tell me it's a 1.1 ) is somewhat comical at best and bizarre at worst. I have no problem with stopping and randomly breathalysing drivers but this does seem a little dramatic. Maybe stopping a Barryboy mobile loaded with chavvy Mancs fair enough, but our own Victor Meldrew in his Fiesta is another. Furthermore, what happened to common manners for starters and 'innocent before proven guilty'?

Under the same circumstances I'd be pretty miffed too.

As balance, I was dealt with very nicely when I had my bags searched in Customs at Gatwick on Friday, which also as it happens led to my Passport being mis-placed... However a nice Customs chapped traced me and is putting it in the post Special Delivery. They're not all bad.

I was breathalysed in Manchester last night. A police transit pulled in front of my car at exactly the same time that a plain police car started flashing its lights behind me.

As the police can spare six men to harrass one completely sober Ford Fiesta driver I'm surprised that their bosses often bleat about how undermanned they are.

Simoncc could never understand why the constabulary targetted his Fiesta!
