Hmmm, compulsary helmet !!! Damn health police

Is it compulsory??? I saw it's in the list of things to bring but does it say they won't let you join the ride if you don't wear one? I have one but I CAN'T wear it all day due to pressure head pain and earache ;) Maybe if you wear it at the beginning and then into the panniers it goes...........or into the bin - whatever

Well page 7 of the "training guide" states they are compulsary. I will probably buy a cheap one to wear at the start and then do the industry standard of dangle it from the handlebars :smile:

LOL shows I read that guide very carefully.

What a pain! I really hate wearing them, whatever pros and cons/safety aspects, they are so uncomfortable....like you say FFFF, the handlebar dangle will be the thing to do..........specially in the (unlikely) event of it being a boiling hot day.

Worst comes to the worst chuck it in a hedge near trimley and I will pick it up on the way home and post it to you:biggrin:

Auntie Helen

Ich bin Powerfrau!
I don't like wearing them as they just aren't designed for ladies with long hair. I'll see if I can get on with the Lidl ones on Thursday though, although the colours are a bit startlingly bright on those. But I suppose as long as I don't overheat I'll wear it the whole way.

Sounds like there should be a bunch of us going then:

Exactly! You want to put your hair up out of the way, but can't fit a helmet over a ponytail/bun type thing. Or wear a hat that covers your ears to stop them getting cold.

Oh well..........

Edit: the reason I didn't know about this was that they sent me a random 'training guide' that was nothing like the one on their website, helmets weren't mentioned at all apart from in a 'suggested kit list' - think I must have been sent last years.;)
