I did say I'd comment on the budget bibshorts I got from Dotbike.

I bought 1 pair of Adidas Performance bibshorts for £29.24 and took a punt on a cheaper pair- Milano Vento bibshorts- for £18.31. I bought these for commuting rather than longer rides- I wanted to have five pairs of bibs so I could get through a week then wash them all on Friday, saving the club kit for the weekend.

The Milano shorts are not going to be good enough for summer commutes. They are too short in the leg (I bought the medium version) and the leg-grippers are woeful. The already-too-short shorts start working their way further up my thighs as I ride, I'm
not that concerned with style on the bike but I am concerned enough that I'm not going to be seen in these.

Maybe a small pair would've been better- they feel larger than other medium shorts i've got. The pad in the seat is on the thin side but fine for commuting use.

I'm not disappointed because I can use them: I like to have a few pairs of cheap shorts to use under my non-padded tights in the winter, and they are OK in combination with legwarmers. Maybe now i've finally got around to shaving the leg grippers will grip a bit better.

The Adidas Performance bibshorts are OK. Good for the price, they do what I expected them to do. I prefer a longer pad that comes around the front a bit more but otherwise I think they're reasonable shorts, the leg grippers grip and they look OK. Certainly fine for my commute, and they'll probably get used for longer outings too.

Lusso coolmax bibs are the bees knees.

I think they are great too, and they come in just on the £40 budget - just for future info.

Nice kit, woeful website!

I know what you mean, bit like rummaging a jumble sale, but I do like the search by size function. Saves me reading all the blurb, thinking I fancy something, only to find that the biggest size is about a 38inch waist.

I used to think dhb stuff was good but after about a year mine have got a couple of holes in. couple on the tights and one on a jersey near the wrist.

DHB can be great or not so great. I bought some DHB baggy shorts (with liners) and all the white stitching unravelled on them on their second outing. Meanwhile my DHB Merston 3/4 'knickers' are going strong after nearly 3 years.

I got an email from Parker International offering half price bibshorts (Parentini/Parentella?? can't remember the name and their site seems to be under maintenance at the moment) which look like bargains. Not used them myself, but am tempted to try a pair.
