Stupid Garmin Connect

Heads up for peeps that use Garmin Connect - they have changed the way they summarise the stats.

The average speed used in the summaries is now based on the average including stops. It was based on average moving speed. That would be fine but they haven't backdated this.

There is also no option to choose which average speed to use.

I was keeping an eye on how my average has improved over the months. Now it's completely skewed.

Is it not possible to set your gps so it stops the timer each time you come to a halt?

The Garmin unit isn't the issue.

I have it set ti auto stop.

Garmin connect gives you both an overall average and a moving average.

They have switched the prominent one to overall average.

This is therefore the one that gets used in summary statistics.
