Heads up for peeps that use Garmin Connect - they have changed the way they summarise the stats.

The average speed used in the summaries is now based on the average including stops. It was based on average moving speed. That would be fine but they haven't backdated this.

There is also no option to choose which average speed to use.

I was keeping an eye on how my average has improved over the months. Now it's completely skewed.

Didn't they do this before, and after complaints, went back to showing moving and total average?

Dunno. They do show moving and total average within the ride, but now use total average for the stats.

I was looking at the monthly numbers thinking, WTF has happened:wacko:

I just hate the whole new system, the only perk being i don't have to upload it to connect but only strava!

The averages are shot on Strava too. If you do a 20 miler with next to no traffic lights it's way up. Any stops on other rides and it's gone.

Not on mine, still shows moving time and calculates the average speed off that?
