@growingvegetables I'm sure there's loads of undiscovered ones still to find in Leeds, then you'll have to move onto York, Wakefield, Burnley and Bradford^_^

This evening I continued a theme from page 3 and went in search of some more jazzed up junction boxes. I know right, just how exciting can a Thursday night get:becool:

The other side of Pasley Park to Andrea Tyrimos' leopard from page 3, I discovered she also did a meerkat standing guard at the parks entrance.

She also painted an old phone box in Southampton Row, so I went to get that too.

I discovered some other artists involved in greatly improving the look of boring electrical boxes, this time with a focus on local landmarks. mORGANICo and Steven Ball worked as part of a project called Cleaner Greener Safer, run by Southwark Council, to improve run down areas of the borough. I've only found 2 so far, this on Borough High St, which I must have cycled past hundreds of times and amazingly not noticed. Its of the building immediately behind it, St George the Martyr church. According to wiki the church has links to Charles Dickens who lodged in nearby Lent St in a house that belonged to the vestry clerk of St George's. Dickens later set several scenes from Little Dorrit in and around the Church, which apparently has a small representation of Little Dorrit in the east window.

And this next one is on the end of Tabard St, as it joins Tower Bridge Road, and depicts the famous bridge.

I found a few more painted junction boxes this afternoon. There's apparently loads more, and scant info available on google, so I've written to Southwark Council's Cleaner, Greener, Safer team who were involved in the project for more info so I can track them all down. This is on Trinity St.

This on Long Lane, I think this may be linked to the discovery of the UK's oldest banana found on a dig in former fish ponds in Southwark that could date from the mid 15th century. See link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/370550.stm

I don't know any Southwark connections to lemons, but this is on the junction of Bermondsey St and Abbey St

This is across the road outside the entrance to St Mary Magdalene Churchyard

And here's another one I've cycled past hundreds of times and not noticed before, its on the south side of London bridge. I thought there may be an old cinema or film museum or something in the area, but my interweb skills did'nt yield any such info, so again I'm none the wiser on the connection.

Another discovery was along Southwark St, where there is an artist designed pedestrian crossing hiding in plain sight^_^. Info here: https://www.dezeen.com/2016/09/23/c...estrian-crossing-london-design-festival-2016/

A rummage around the Turnpike Lane area today which has a good concentration of work in a small area. Another one for the ATM bird collection, a heron on Langham Place

Further along the same road is another fox for the collection

And 100 yards or so further along a vintage train station station scene, I love the Jack Russell.

Another bird scene can be found on the shutters of the Haringey Chinese Centre on Langham Rd

The House of Beauty on the corner of Langham Rd and Graham Rd has 2 pieces, a Betty Boo by Pegasus

...and on the corner is this:

The corner of Langham Road has loads bunched together. I have been here before to get ATM's lapwing, but there's more there now. Duke Ellington and Prince tributes.

This is great and is right next to the Prince one.

This next one is by American Shepard Fairey who has been involved in loads of things, but is probably most famous for creating the Barrack Obama 'Hope' poster. More info:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ben-arnon/how-the-obama-hope-poster_b_133874.html
DIauZmj.jpg

Amongst the other things Fairey's been involved in, he once designed a bike for mono-nutted disgraced former cyclist Lance Armstrong...which was pretty hideous I think, linky: http://www.highsnobiety.com/2011/05/13/shepard-fairey-x-trek-madone-6-9-ssl-for-team-radioshack/
And here's a great Muhammad Ali tribute, the text on the small Ali image is of his famous quote 'float like a butterfly, sting like a bee'.

And finally another great one by Fanakapan whose 3D silver balloons I've photographed before.

Any excuse:laugh:. In truth its spangly shiny paint means its usually only brought out in the sunshine, and I do spread the riding across my other bikes, I can't have any of them getting jealous. I hope to have my Denti on the road again in the next month, which can give some scale to the next round of undiscovered art works:whistle:

This isn't a particularly great example, but but I found out about Tyneside Rocks today. Basically folk decorate and hide rocks around the place to find, hide or keep. I'll be making and hiding my first tonight/tomorrow.

Started in America apparently, and the idea has made it over the pond. A welcome import!
