I am using the Prime video app on a Panasonic smart tv.

There is a search icon but it does searches on the whole Amazon website rather than on the Discovery app itself.

I got my mouse working on the TV but... I haven't found any apps that make use of it! I can move the pointer around but apps are not responding to clicks.

I could watch it on my tablet but I would prefer to use the TV.

I am watching the highlights of stage 1 of Catalunya. It is less than an hour long so I will just let it run. Frustrating though, because I prefer to pick my own highlights from longer coverage. They are just showing riders bimbling along in the rain and nothing is happening. At some point they will hack a chunk out because they will not cover 47 km in the remaining 30 minutes of highlights. Ha - 25 km just disappeared and the intermediate-sprint was in that!

I think what I might do after today is skim through extended coverage on the tablet until there is about 60 km to go then switch to the TV for the finale and let that run.

At least I have now cut the time to finding the race coverage that I want. I just went through the TNT cycling section and added all of the races that want to watch to my Amazon Prime Watchlist.

Can you cast from your tablet to the TV?

As long as I breathe, I attack.
uk government had to debate the loss of the TDF from free to air due to 14,000 signatures and they basically dont give a poop by stating its up to the governing body to decide what to charge even though its warner bros who are just milking us for every penny they can get
"broadcasting rights also provide essential income for sporting National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and event organisers, including British Cycling, which enables them to invest in better facilities for participants and spectators, improve elite performance, hire the best coaches, and keep up with mounting competition. NGBs, including British Cycling, need to consider the trade-offs between visibility, access to live cycling events and maximising broadcasting revenue. It is important to get the balance right, and that balance is for each sport’s NGB to determine."

I couldn't understand why they were wibbling about British Cycling's income in reply to a petition about the Tour de France, but then I remembered that the government agency UK Sport (or whatever it's called now: is it Great British Sport or did that one escape?) appoints some directors to British Cycling in exchange for the lottery funding it gets.

So maybe it's understandable that if the government added the Tour de France to List A, they'd probably also add the Tour of Britain, which would hurt their pet's income and they'd have to feed it more, which they don't want to do right now.

Understandable, but no less pathetic a reason.

I also couldn't understand why the government also included a load of self-love for their "almost £300 million of funding for local authorities for active travel in 2024/5 and 2025/6, to provide high-quality and easily accessible active travel schemes across England" as if sport cycling (Dept of Culture Media and Sport) has much to do with active travel (Dept for Transport). They're funded from different budgets and one really shouldn't be linked to the other, so I don't get this.

There's probably scope for further embarrassment that "the UK was announced as hosts for the Grand Depart stages for both the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes in 2027. This is the first time, apart from in France, that the Grand Depart for both races will be hosted in the same country. The Tour will travel throughout England, Scotland and Wales, inspiring girls and boys as their sporting heroes cycle directly through their communities, with the races free to view in person" but for the first time in about 20 years, nothing live will be available on Freeview from next year, and no highlights will be on a main channel for the first time in 40 years! (itv4's highlights were repeated on itv1 later in the evening, before that it was on Channel 4 since 1985)

I agree that if at all possible that the TDF should be live FTA. Tough to put onto list A though. I suspect that much like TNT put the Champions League final out on FTA, the UK Grand Departs will be FTA.
