Just been looking at renewing my Discovery+ sub to see / catch up with races Down Under etc.
Only two plans now available: Basic @ £3.99/month (includes v little) & Premium (includes everything) @ £30.99/month - ouch!
No Standard @ £6.99 / month

£6.99 was OK to see cycling & tennis (only two we're willing to pay for), but not £30+.

So, what are y'all doing out there? Is there an alternative?
I've looked at Eurosport, but just get directed to Discovery - as expected.

I've greatly enjoyed the last few years watching cycling, but fear that's it. TdF on ITV this year as swan song. 😢

You would be as well getting a Sky Stream package which includes Eurosport and Netflix. I think it might be around £22 per month for new customers. Ah, cancel that after reading about Eurosport stopping in UK.

but if Eurosport is dead
then next year it might not be on at all unless you pay several hundred pound for the whole year

I mean - I like to watch all 3 Grand Tours - and some of the other races if they cover them properly - but I'm not sure I can justify the cost in my mind

As much as I don't like their coverage, I just hope ITV4 keep doing their coverage of TDF, it's better than paying £30+ a month. All of this is making the BBC licence fee seem cheap by comparison.

Someone said the ITV coverage stops after this year??
If the Eurosport coverage is stopping and the only other way is via expensive subscriptions then maybe they could be persuaded to extend it??

I stopped watching last year's Giro when Pog went into pink. Cancelled my Discovery+ subscription for June because I was heading away for (maybe) 6 weeks and wouldn't be watching. To my surprise I didn't miss it and didn't re-start my subscription.

Cor, yes - more than twice what I pay for my TV license, and I get more than my money's worth in BBC radio alone.

As I'd be paying Discovery more than 4 times what I was, I suppose if a quarter of those on Standard switch to Premium then Discovery have won.

I shall miss it. In spite of domination by certain parties I still like the ebb-and-flow in much of it. And some of the more minor races, even if we don't get to see the piglet being presented in Tro Bro Leon.

Giro as a contest wasn't the greatest last year, but this years should be a closer battle with no Pog/Jonas

What does it cost for the full year on Discovery these days?
