Is there any point keeping both up to date?

I've always used endomondo but recently my data seems all over the place.

So I took a look at strava and although a little more complicated it looked ok.

Now, I'm at the point where I have imported ALL my rides into strava so the data in both is identical...

So, do I keep both up to date or just choose one?

I upload to 4 sites lol. Garmin connect, strava, endomondo and mapmyride.

I have a garmin unit so connect makes sense, mapmyride is great but is expensive to upgrade to pro and they bug u all the time bout it. Endomondo is nice and clean but doesn't have the same level of depth as the others IMO and strava is the defacto standard it seems because of its segments and level of data analysis.

Only thing with strava is the data is complete bollox quite frankly. They have algorithms they use for distance, elevation and average speed that doesn't match up to reality. ALL the other 3 sites takes the info from the garmin and put out near identical readings. Strava just takes your data, throws it in the bin and gives you some random numbers it found on the floor.

If your using a strava app on a smartphone it's good, if you want to look at segments it's good, but if u use a bike computer and want to track routes you have done without the in depth analysis I would personally stuck with endomondo tbh.

I use strava & cyclemeter which i think is the better of the two apps, strava is more so i can see what friends are up to, because there is no way on this earth i could compete with them

Just keep an eye on their privacy settings, I ditched mapmyride after it was publishing stuff to Facebook that I didn't want it to, and I'm 99% certain I went through all the settings to disable publishing (without my permission) beforehand... I decided I wasn't going to trust a "free" application anymore.

Garmin Connect, Mapmyride and Strava for me, then i take the figures from Garmin to put onto MCL, there is a site you can use to sync garmin with strava so you only have to upload it once

What do you want out of it?

I upload to Garmin Connect and Strava, via Golden Cheetah, I use Golden Cheetah for my analysis. Garmin Connect and Strava offer little to anyone serious about data analysis.

I use endomondo and strava, but not really sure I want to keep using strava, as the segments interest me less and less and endomondo has better stats, IMHO. One nice thing about strava is its instagram sync.

Just out of curiosity, why do those of you who upload to Garmin Connect do that? Upload to Garmin Connect I mean. At least Strava is a bit of fun, but Garmin Connect?

You mean Garmin Sync, I used this for a while, then looking at my data I thought my best running times looked to have improved, it had imported data for someone in Canada  nice times & interesting looking terrain but not me, I deleted all the wrong data but it came back ! deleting the Garmin sync connection seems to have cured it.

Yeah i stopped using it too, the idea is there though

I upload everythin to Strava these days as it has 'privacy zones' (ie it wont show a gps track to my front door) but selectively use RWGPS and/or GC which give better stats info for rides when I remember to restart the track at little bit from home (ie a club run).

I use both. Endomondo for the monthly mileage challenges, and Strava for segments. Strava is also good because you can assign a bike to an activity, so it's good for accurately measuring your mileage on a specific bike. Whereas Endomondo only has activity types (cycling transport, cycling sport, mountain biking)

I am not convinced with the elevation on RWGPS is correct either, if you correct it or Garmin, though both are usually closer to the unit than strava, even the unit cant get it right, so it's all guess work, so I suppose the only yhing you can really work with is your h.r. and how hard you have worked, at the end of the day strava is a bit of fun, because even setting a p.b. does not always mean anything.

I use Garmin Training Centre for the raw data into a spreadsheet. and ascent time from rwgps to work out an avg V.A.M. Even the times in RWGPS are different to the unit.
