The road concerned has a section temporarily reduced to a light controlled single carriageway for ongoing road and bridge repairs.
The sign on the other side of the bridge also says the same carriageway width.

You'd no problems getting through though.

How wide was the actual gap?
The actual gap is around 2.2m and is now enforced by concrete barriers on both sides of the bridge. Looking at the marks on the barriers, a number of drivers have had difficulties coping with the restriction.
This morning I approached the bridge from the opposite side and there was a written warning on that side referring to a 2.2m width, although there were still maximum width indicator signs on both sides of the bridge showing 2' 2".

If I understand stuff correctly, legal signage should not be solely in Metric (assuming they mean 2.2 metres, not actually inches)
