And I think there were casualties amongst the team who'd set up camp the far side of Antarctica intending to wait for his own team's crossing though that is somewhat glossed over in the narrative of "didn't lose a man" for the astonishing survival story where they lived two winters in the upturned whaleboat on Elephant Island

Seen at the Christmas Market in Hebden Bridge a few years ago. Local traders were losing out to stalls that paid no ground rent, were invited to take part. And taking custom from the shops that paid their council rates, but had to put up with footpaths narrowed down and vehicle access to their shops heavily restricted.
