I've never seen so much water come out of mushrooms. That has to be the growing method or excessive, uneccessary washing.

I buy frozen mushrooms because they're more convenient, they're full of water like that.

Chinese fried mushroom are the only way. Just have to plan ahead and soak them overnight

Convenience, it's just one less lot of perishable leftovers to manage.

Don't buy Tesco's though, it just congeals into a sticky lump (I thought it was me that was doing something wrong until I switched to Sainsburys).

Interesting. I've used Tesco & Morrison's plain couscous and not had any issues at all.
I prefer plain, thus I can add whatever I like and not have to put up with some manufacturer's idea of 'flavour' - !

Yes, same in our house. We buy a kilo packet of plain couscous, keep it in a large Kilner jar and cook as needed.

Adding one's own flavours is far, far better than buying supermarket stuff which can indeed get stodgy.
