Components better on the Marasa at quick glance...Altus rather than Tourney and has hydraulic disc brakes for better stopping esp in wet/mud (although red better)...Go try them out but I'd go for the Voodoo (it's a little heavier due to the disc brakes but under a KG so nothing in reality) I'd fit ergo grips to either for more comfortable hands

Did you testride it?

I know it's a bit more, but very little in monthly terms on C2W but disc brakes really are worth considering on an all weather commuter

https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-lithium-3-2017-hybrid-bike-EV275573?

If planning on adding mudguards and a rack, plus lights etc, get the value added to the C2W voucher as you'll get the tax saving too :okay:

I'm only going to commute on it once a week at the most and only when it's not raining...which is a lot in Manchester!

Rest of the time will be leisure rides at weekends so can't really justify the extra...i have added on the extras to the certificate too.

The Lithium is a good bike, cracking frame with plenty of fittings for racks mudguards and whatever you want to do in future. I had a real good look at one recently in Evans. Good choice. Nothing wrong with V brakes either.

With 38-42mm knobbly tyres, yep. Get one with lock out suspension - lock for road use/smooth path use, unlock for rougher

If you want a HT MTB though, get one. Get the bike you want, but make sure you consider different options. Every bike will have a compromise or 5

How much ££ are you getting on C2W
People have ridden the TPT on a Brompton. You don't need a suspension fork.

I am getting a road bike and it is between
planet x v2 rt 58 alloy tiagra and the
bitwin ultra 700 af which is £40 more. Which one would you advise? I know the Bitwin has a better groupset but I'm unsure about the wheels.
Also if i get the btwin I have to wait 2 and half weeks as it is out of stock at the moment(and it is in the summer now so I have more time to ride)
