WD40. Spray on rag, wipe off, job done.

GT85 is a better solvent than WD40, another alternative is Mr Sheen.

BRAKE CLEANER for me in the shed, spray on a rag and simply wipe the smeg off.

THIS for Mrs Smoo in the house, does the same but er, in the house.

Why she can't just use the brake cleaner I already have gawd knows!

Just took the stickers off a cracked Mavic Cosmic Elite with boiling water and was going to test WD40 and GT85 on the residue but there is none , boling water did the job on its own

Mavic Aksium , stickers come off quite easy with boiling water but left lots of residue , both WD40 and GT85 worked but took a bit of elbow grease with soft cloth, think more abrasive cloth would of made it came off easier but did not want to scratch the rims.

visit the chemist and get something called Zoff if you can't get the proper solvents...

Acetone is a good solvent - around a £1 for a small bottle. The basic stuff of some nail varnish removers, but without added scent. Use it to remove the glue from my table tennis bat when I put new rubbers on them, but that's another sport.

Test it first to make sure it only removes the sticky bits.

Why? stickers came off one type of Mavic wheel easier than the other !

Eucalyptus oil will do it , something we have a plentiful supply of here down under, for some odd reason .

I use a hand held steam cleaner to remove stickers from wheels, the glue becomes soft and can be wiped off with a cloth
