When is the Exodus route recce?
The recce is planned for the 25th of April. Starting from Brizzle at about 9ish. Not sure of the exact time or starting place yet though. I'll try and get those nailed down and post them on the Exodus thread.

All I can say is good luck with the ride Chuffy, no doubt it will go fine. Just out of interest what type of bike will you be using!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Keith. It'll be my Sunday best road bike (Guess SC1, Kysrium Elites and Dura Ace) accessorised with a Carradice Super C saddlebag supported by my own homebrew bag-hod. Nice combination...:becool: Not my usual steed for long rides, but as it's going to be an epic I wanted the lightest bike I had. I've also changed the route a little. Rather than heading down to the A303 I'll be taking the A361 through Glastonbury (any excuse...:o) and Taunton. It's a little longer, 181 miles, but much flatter than the other way. I didn't fancy tackling the Blackdown hills after 130 miles in the saddle....

Ilovebikes - it's going to be on the Monday. Enjoy your 400k. It makes my 289k look distinctly modest....;)

Bonne chance and bonne route, Chuffy.

I am in awe, as it'll be a red letter day for me when (if) I go past 60 miles in one go. Chapeau!

Big day tomorrow and I have to be up at silly o'clock, so I'm off to beddy byes. Looks like it's going to be a side/headwind the whole way (nice!) so it's going to be a tough day.....

If I don't make it, I love you all!

Best of luck Chuffy. If your body starts to feel a bit cramped and you need to have a stretch just jump of your bike and have a wee YMCA moment.

Good luck!

Long solo rides are all in the head. Enjoy it rather than worry about it and you'll have a good time.

Cheers all.
No cramping, thanks to my electrolyte sports drink (I won't be doing any long rides without that from now on).

Report here.

Greenbank - I agree completely. I've done a few solo centuries, but nothing as long as this and not in such crappy conditions. I bailed because I was fed up as much as anything. I certainly didn't feel as physically wrecked as I did after last Saturday's Exmouth recce and that was much shorter, albeit windier.
