Thanks for the info. So I assume there is no separate footpath at all where you could just push your bike if it was too windy?

When you say it might be closed if windy, is that closed to all traffic or just bikes? Is there a website you can go on to check for any closures? The problem I have is that it will be difficult to establish before we get there if it is windy enough to close it and if we have to take the longer route avoiding the bridge, we'll need to leave earlier in the morning to get to Le Havre in time for the ferry!!

TheDoctor - Ouistreham is an option, but I was hoping to stop for lunch at Honfleur before getting to Le Havre (we're staying at Deauville the last night). If we go back from Ouistreham instead, where would you recommend for lunch? Houlgate, Cabourg? Are they nice places?

Any information welcome!
