The fastest I have sprinted on the flat is about 35/36mph and have a turn of speed that would make you wonder what just happened. I reckon that I could go faster if I wasn't carrying my panniers, which when loaded weigh about 15kg.

Maybe we should organise a cycle chat sprint at say Santa Pod or even outside the local school at 8.30am just for fun.

My internet sprint speed is about 54mph road speed about 36, which I would imagine is about the same as most fit club riders. This being on a flat non wind or traffic assisted piece of quite wide open over 40mph road.

To address the issue of winds and how "silly" it is on the local high street, firstly it was done at half 9 at night and secondly if you get 2-3 cars go down there in an hour your lucky, iv been sprint training on and off during the week as well as big club rides at weekends, my legs have already been commented on by every member of the club as been ridiculous and how they wish they had the same power for their sizes as theyd be alot better off. There was NO winds on the night "we went for it"

Using a standard Giant defy gear set 53T front not sure on back, Carbon Forks. Was the first time id gone for the skin suit look aswell with overshoes.

If anyones around Rutland / Leicestershire and fancies a ride im up for that, and the high street we used is 347yds (well the part we marked as the sprint point)
