I did not know that. Did you know my brother lives in Whitstable and Alan Shaxon one time president of the Magic Circle was born in Whitstable?

...and the only birthday party I went to as child was in Whitstable and I ran way from home in Blean when I was ten and ended up in Whitstable, I thought I was going to Wingham!

How about a social ride along the mainly traffic free route from Whitstable to Ramsgate ,taking in the harbour views of Whitstable ,Herne Bay ,Margate and ,Ramsgate . . Distance about 27 miles .

As we're talking mostly traffic free I asume we mean along the apron and sea wall. My advise would be there are a lot of shells thrown up from the sea, although I have not suffered one, punctures may occur.I've only cycled it once but a friend had a mtb tyre ripped open on them. Happy to be assured by the more local who cycle it regularly.

Arse, just checked my roster for the year and as always seems the case I'm at work, will try and get the day off but what with low staff levels nowadays it can be a struggle. Still, thats 4 months to sort it out which gives me a better chance.

Blimey, did it break clean off? I've never heard of that happening but at 14 and a bit stones and running a lot of seat post I do sometimes fear the worst.

The apron can get wet at high tide if sea is rough but there is a cliff top road that runs parallel with much of the route between Minnis Bay and Margate. High tide is 10 am at Margate on the 6th May.
