Ride and riders wise, there's very little difference these days. More and more road club cyclists are doing Audax as they are cheaper then Sportives.

I quite like the idea of a group of us getting together to set off early, ride full width of the road and slow some faker-racers down but really there are more fun things to do. I really do think it would help if there was more agreed differentiation between races, sportives and what are effectively bunch-start TTs.So in all these events are you saying we should all just wobble around at 12mph in a big group clogging up the roads then?.
