How much does it cost to Oldham?
I've never really got the point of SPOTY. as someone else just said, anyone who spends THAT much time out of breath probably doesn't have that much else going on. Can you imagine going out for lager and curries with Paula Radcliffe?

Yeah, hamilton will win, alot more petrol heads than cyclists
The cyclists will win the team award

i still think hammilton is over rated.
i mean yes he did well and im possitive its rather hard , but at the end of the day how is it a sport????

all he does is push pedals!

i agree the team persuit should win the team prize!

Needless to say, the Welsh Sports Personality of the Year has been won by rugby player Shane Williams rather than Nicola Cooke.

What do you expect, rugby is much more popular than cycling in Wales. It doesn't matter how many people ride a bike to the shops, top level cycle racing is a seriously minority sport.....

Far more people watch formula one in the uk than watch cycling....

loads more people dream of being a race car driver than being in the TdF

websters online dictionary:
An active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition.

If you think F1 driving doesn't involve exertion, then you're a bit behind the times.....
Drivers are very fit, and have arms like tree trunks....

Watching sport isn't sport.

It is for the large percentage of Brits. You ask in your office who is into sport, you will get the pie eater claiming to be 'well into sport - he watches xxx team every Sat'
