I've never really got the point of SPOTY. as someone else just said, anyone who spends THAT much time out of breath probably doesn't have that much else going on. Can you imagine going out for lager and curries with Paula Radcliffe?

i still think hammilton is over rated.
i mean yes he did well and im possitive its rather hard , but at the end of the day how is it a sport????

all he does is push pedals!

Well, I'm not. I never watch the telly (except the F1) and I'm not really a fan of Hamilton, and the whole thing is irrelevant anyway. So there.

Needless to say, the Welsh Sports Personality of the Year has been won by rugby player Shane Williams rather than Nicola Cooke.

What do you expect, rugby is much more popular than cycling in Wales. It doesn't matter how many people ride a bike to the shops, top level cycle racing is a seriously minority sport.....

loads more people dream of being a race car driver than being in the TdF
