Superglue may work, it may not, depending on a host of conditions.

How clean the rubber is is the most important issue...actually rubber is about the ONLY thing the damn stuff will successfully bond.
For small flint splits...i could see it working. Thats said....i wouldnt bother with small slits anyway.

last club run i was on someone informed me of a "huge hole" in my rear vitorria rubino. turned out to be the small nick that has been there for over 1000 miles and that even the lbs (when given the opportunity to replace it) reckoned there was no problem.

and no, it's never punctured.

I found that the rubber glue sort of melted the tyre, SG is OK on small nicks, but not on anything resembling a hole!
