I had exactly the same issue, except mine was never solved after three visits, It's been clicking and creaking away for over a year, no actual damage to the BB is occurring even after 4k. I am set to get a new BB for spring/summer so the info above is helpful. The only conclusion I had from the shop was that it was the force on the piece, I am 6'5 and was riding the bike hard 3-4 times a week,.....I don't know why I stuck with it other than there didnt seem to be a solution other than swapping it out, figured it was a low end BB and to replace with the same model would just bring about the same result, ridability wasn't bad..........well until the thing unwound itself and the cup split in two as it kissed the crank...
Over all this is a great bike but if you are a serious rider you know it's all about maintenance and after a couple of months on this I soon realised that there are components that just wont progress with you as you move forward from just a beginner.....The standard tiers had to go after 8 weeks to be replaced with gators and the rear wheel needed multiple spoke replacements as they would fail, a valuable lesson to do your checks properly and know when to call it a day on parts...
Happy riding.....
