I'm getting back into cycling as I've now decided to cycle to work. I've been to a few shops and sat on a few bikes and have had a few test rides.
There is 2 bikes that I can't separate and they are the Specilized Crosstrail Disc and a Pinnacle Cabolt Two Disc. They are the same price and feel very similar on the go.

If they are the same to you, brand wise, the Specialized will have better resale value and comes with a lifetime warranty for the original owner. You may however not want suspension if cycling to work on roads and not going off them otherwise

The suspension is lockable on both bikes for when on road. The lifetime warranty is very interesting , I never new that! That's the dirt of info that can sway a decision . Cheers

AFAIK Pinncale are Evans' own in house brand, so given a choice of those 2 it'd have to be the Specialized, but then again I don't like Spesh bikes so I'm afraid I'd have to go for something completely different

TBH whatever you choose I'd avoid suspension at this price point, all it does it add weight but gives no real benefit in return.

I'm with Smokey on Specialized and the suspension...even if it's lockable, it can still be a bit springy (I had a Crosstrail a few years ago). The fat tyres also make it harder on the road, albeit comfortable. The discs will add weight too, albeit they are useful in the wet
