Specialized helmets

I use a specialized echelon helmet but was looking in to an upgrade; i want a nicer colour scheme and i'm starting to get signs of wear and tear. But argh!!! What have specialized done to the echelon?!? The cool s shape in the middle has vanished and they've made it all wide and ugly looking

Fortunately i've managed to find an s3 in the sale, reduced from 100 to 85; fingers crosed it is as good as the echelon but looks cooler!

Anybody else got this helmet? Any thoughts?

I have the S2 not sure how it differs to the S3 as the general shape looks similar - the S2 is very comfortable and good ventilation too.

I have an S3 and it's very good, well ventilated and light

Does make me look a bit like a Mario brothers style mushroom though......

bagged off the s3 having got to try one on today - supermario is right! found a lovely louis garneau sharp in black for 15 quid cheaper - hurrah!

No but it does have CPSC certification, which is equivalent of the lower snell B90 standard. Plus i can't see evans cycles being allowed to sell non-safety certificated helmets!

They will sell ones that meet the Eu standard but not the more exacting US Snell but if not planning on crashing then all good

Why the attitude? I came on to comment on a helmet i've bought and you appear to be having a go. Back off and also get your facts right! CSPC is regarded as equivalent your beloved snell, as i clearly wrote above!

Btw if you google helmets.org there is a list of EVERY single helmet (well it's an american site so pretty much every!) with info. It also details all the standards for comparison.

Catlike Kompacto, I like th Catlike styling but need to try on as you can't buy in shops...it's sat in a box under my desk as we speak

Halfords have the catlike range in stock . I tried some on Sunday , they made me look like an idiot .
