If I get a Road bike should i stick to the same pedals (M505) that I have on my hybrid ?

Might come with some? I have some Looks that came with the bike but I haven't put them on yet.

You can, or you can use something like an SPD-SL. which has a wider platform, a larger cleat for better grip in pedal and a generally stiffer shoe for better performance.

I have 2 x pairs of shoes already - Some M series Shimano's and some good old Lidl all weather ones !

On my winter/training bikes I use A510 pedals which are still spd so I can wear the same shoe IMO they look much better On the summerr bike its SPD-SL's they look better still AFAIC

pretty much, cleats also need to get replaced after a while.

Yip, if you go the SPD-SL route you'll need new shoes for the 3 bolt type cleats that come with the new pedals.
