My Adidas Minretts are fairly well recessed, but not too far that I haven't been able to tap dance on tiled floors for my niece this weekend.

Sorry, that doesn't answer your questions mrfacetious but you've had good advice already and she did enjoy the dancing

Looks like you got the gotten habit from that American website.

The screws ripped out of the cleats because you're missing the essential plates, that fit inside the cleats. Those steel bolts and the steel plate inside the sole of the shoe are extremely strong and the thread won't rip out, specially if you've tried to fit them the way I think you have. This is what they should look like:

If you really did rip the bolts out of the shoes than I'd suggest the Adidas fixing plates are made of cheese and you need to get some Shimano ones. Most cyclists will have a few of these knocking around in their box of bits; I've certainly got a few and you can have a pair if you want.

wow thanks a lot! i'd love it if you could offer me them, how much would you want?
I've bought a set of 8 new stainless steel screws for 14p each, should last i hope
I have got the sort of "double washer" no idea what the name is, i just didn't include it in the picture of the cleat. The pic was mainly to illustrate the thread of my screws.

Sorry to hijack the thread - but anybody got a spare one of those two-hole washers?
My cleats came off my shoes on yesterday's ride - and the force necessary to get the cleat off the pedal sprang the washer & bolts off into the long grass:blush:
I've got some spare bolts somewhere, but just need a washer. A new cleat set is so expensive....
