The pedals need the 3 bolt SPD-SL cleats

Even though they say road shoes it looks like they are for 2 hole system spd.
Just off to have a check.

Cleats are usually supplied with the pedals.

Yeah I did check the Q&A to see if they were supplied and they are, dont want to start spending stupid amounts as yet

I don't want to court controversy, but if touring shoes amongst others, are generally SPD, then surely 'road shoes' is a misnomer?

I don't think so. They are just road orientated shoes that use the SPD system. They are road shoes as they have no real tread to speak of as per MTB shoes.
