I will make a guess that you do not spend much time in the small ring. Accordingly consider just changing the large ring. And you wont even need to take the crank off. NB Locktite on the bolt threads.I am closing in on 19,000km on my road bike that I have owned since new, at the end of 2015. It has had a new casette and I have just replaced the chain, after noticing that it is slipping on the front (large) chainring when I put the power down! Usually this will be pulling away in the big ring.
After replacing my cassette and chain together last month I expected a taut, willing drive train. Nope. Slipping. Narrowed it down to the middle ring (42t) of my triple (the chainset had done at least 25k) and I've replaced that. Sorted.
