I am with @ColinJ on this one.
No need for a pump then, you can borrow his.

cheapest is tyreinflators.co.uk.

Have never had a duff one.

Check to see if your inflator can take threaded, non-threaded or both.

I use these guys after a recommendation on here a few years ago. I buy 30 at a time and then sell them to my cycling mates, they work out to about 85p per 16g threaded cartridge that way.

I just carry a good high pressure pump in my jersey can't be bothered with all that high tech nonsense to be honest. It seems a faff having to carry two cartridges, the actual valve thing and then what happens if you get another flat if you miss something in the tire or pinch the tube getting the tire back on? I am with @ColinJ on this one.
A mate was trying CO2 for the first time. He ran over glass and got front and rear punctures so that was his 2 tubes and 2 cylinders accounted for. He accidentally trapped one replacement tube and it exploded when he put the gas in. He then had to scrounge a tube off me, and borrow my pump!

No need for a pump then, you can borrow his.
Another pal came out with me and got a puncture. He had no spares or tools, and annoyed me when he said that he did not want to weigh himself down 'with all that crap'. I gave him a tube and let him use my pump but told him that was the only time. If he did that again, I would leave him at the roadside and carry on alone ...

There's always Lennard Zinn's methods of tying a knot in your inner tube, or failing that, stuffing your tyres with grass...

I carry both if possible although my mini pump you need to be the world strogest man to get it over 60 psi, now im a big lad and when applying all my weight i can just about get it to 60, thats why i carry the co2 to put it up the extra as 60 will just pinch the tubes and get another puncture , im down to just the co2 now though as the stepdad is using the pump so i carry a tyre sealent canister too

Blimey - how many punctures do you get per ride?

I probably only get one puncture per thousand miles...

Out of interest, what tyres are you using? I'm plagued with punctures.

23c Michelin Lithion 2s.

I keep an eye open for glass and try to avoid thumping into things which cause snakebite punctures (pinch flats).

If I do get a puncture, I am very careful to make sure that I remove from the tyre whatever caused it.

Another thing to watch out for is damaging replacement/repaired tubes when refitting. It is very easy to nip them with a tyre lever or tyre bead and the weakness that produces can lead to punctures a day or two later. (That was a tip given to me by an experienced cyclist when I first started out, and was puncturing nearly every day. He was right - when I started being more careful, the punctures stopped!)

In my experience cheaper tubes seem to be made of thicker heavier material so dont puncture as easy, the best tubes are latex tubes they really do improve the feel you get from the road and roll anot better but they are £10 plus a tube amd arent always that puncture resistant

Thanks for that. Do you think more expensive inner tubes make much difference?
I've got latex tubes on my Cannondale and I do like them, but as jack smith and Alun mentioned above - they are delicate. I managed to put a tiny hole in one of my latex tubes when swapping tyres a couple of nights ago, despite being careful. A normal butyl tube would not have been damaged.

Also, find latex a pain to install they move differently to refular ones so they seem to snag everywhere when installing them!
