Hi all
I have a cube peloton 2014 and I'm getting a lot of neck pain especially as my milage is increasing .
Nothing has changed on the bike from standard other than seat height and seat moved slightly forward .
I've read that neck pain may be reduced by raising the bars Or stem??
Can anyone offer any advice please. I've googled but can't find what I can do or try , or do I have to go to lbs to no doubt pay through the nose
Frame is 60cm and I'm 6ft. Apparently I have long legs and that is correct frame size !

Thanks for any help

What size stem do you use? I'm 6' 6" and both my bikes are 58cm but with 130mm stems. It may be that you're a little stretched and therefore putting more weight through your arms/hands. A shorter stem may help.

Hi there , thanks for the reply. How would I check what stem I have ? My bike knowledge isn't the best .
It's the standard bike stem.

http://SheldonBrown.com/pain.html but I'd humbly suggest you might be leaning on your arms because the bike encourages a more leaned-forwards position than you've got core strength to support yet. Some combination of exercises (some like Pilates for that) and raising the bars until you're stronger would be my guess. I would think there's a chance that the bike might be too big (so too big a reach, which is as important as leg length) but I'd trust people who've seen you and the bike until it's clearly wrong.

Fairly common if you aren't used to road bikes. When I had a few fallow years jumping back on the road bikes used to kill my back and neck. The bikes were a perfect fit but I wasn't used to the position. Roll on a few months and I was fine.

Frame sounds a bit on the large size to me. I'm 6'2" ( admitedly with short legs) and ride a 58.

I suspect that if the frame fits you leg wise you may well be stretched out too far. You could initialy try "flipping" the stem over assuming it's currently pointing down. This may make things better, but agree with above you probably need a shorter stem.

I went for a bike fit earlier this year and it turns out that raising your saddle a bit, moving it back a bit and dropping the hoods a bit can make a massive difference. Never would have worked it out by myself, needed the computer assisted help of experts.

Thanks for all the replies . My core isn't too bad as do a fair bit of that to help my running.
Think I will pop it in to the lbs that sold it to me and see what they think.
If flipping the stem a simple job?
Appreciate all the replies

Very simple, check YouTube and there will be lots of videos showing you how.

Same problem as I had. Switched to a shorter stem (100 to 80mm) and the problem went away. A few months of riding and gaining distance per ride will go a long way to alleviating the problem, too, as Fossy mentions above.

Do you wear glasses when riding? This can make you raise your head more and cause neck ache. Especially if wide rimmed specs.

Thanks again for replies . No I don't wear glasses .
Seems to be a few here thinking a shorter stem or bike fit may help . I'm going to pop to lbs today and get there advice .
I don't think 54/56 frame would be right size for me for cube , I tried a smaller one line that and I felt way too small , but on the other hand the boardman I tried was I think 55.5 and that was ok . Think cube maybe have different frame set up?
Thanks all
