Carbon forks arent just about shaving a few grams. They contribute to a nicer ride by soaking up road buzz.

I agree with that, even my alloy crowned ones smooth the roads out nicely.

That same bike has a 2300 drivetrain and 2200 shifters. That is heading into generic cr@p territory though. Even with the best alignment and adjustments I can manage the gear changes are slow and clunky.
