Costello's is too sweet. The first time I saw/heard Costello was on Tony Wilson's pop slot on local TV and he (Elvis) sang Alison so raw that it sounded like a chainsaw scratching a blackboard. Out comes the album and it sounds like candyfloss in pink slippers.
